Teeny Tiny 'Baby' Nursery

Oh .. so waiting for the final bit of 'white stuff' to melt!  Our yard is snow free for the most part .. except .. for the last little holdout in the veggie garden.

Meanwhile .. I've got the start of my plant nursery set up in the dining room.

This little greenhouse is equipped with a heater .. albeit .. it sits directly over a heater vent in the floor .. and has the use of my heating pad .. and a grow light.

A few things are sprouting .. and my tropical plants seem to LOOOOVE the attention (read warmth and frequent water mists).

Our neighbors have graciously said I could use some of their outdoor greenhouse so I placed my wireless outdoor thermometer inside of it .. and from the comfy of my living room I can check the temp 24/7.

Having been everything green deprived for the past few months .. this little nursery is a JOY!

I love the stacked rock around your garden...so nice. I use hot pads for my *nursery*, too! I have my yard sale friend pick them up for me on the cheap...they are wonderful! Hope that snow melts for you soon!

Wow, Mrs. Mac,
I admire the systematic way you are planning and fulfilling your projects.
You've got an accurate strategy for each specie.

The plat nursery is simply lovely.
I bet your garden will thrive and the moose will stay outside those high fences drooling from envy.

Good luck and God bless the seed, as the old Norwegian farmer's said. Did you know that the men always took their hat off when sowing?
They called seed "the loan from God".
They for certain also knew about starving, early frost and rainy summers, but they never gave in.

That's adorable!! You really worked with your on-hand gadgets to get the bottom heat and humidity, too. Today my dining room was emptied of the overwintered plants and taken to the greenhouse. We are ahead of you...here's hoping that white-stuff will soon disappear!

Wow - you do such an amazing job! I am a very, very novice gardener, and am having a hard time getting my seeds to sprout, lol!

What a great and very helpful plan for your little nursery. I'm pretty sure your plants will survive there.

I hope your little plants are doing well, and the rest of the snow melts soon. Our temps have been fluctuating quite a bit. Today's high was 58ish, and this weekend, we are supposed to see 80s! This will be the highest temps of the spring, and unseasonably warm. There are chances of rain almost every day in the next 7 days, and we need it, but I hope our tree that has to come down gets down in the next few days like they said, so I can figure out what I want to plant in the area.
