Wind In My Sails ....

Hiking at Tubbs Hill
Today was in the 80's (20 degrees above normal) .. and for North Idaho .. it was a great day to get out and hang bed clothes (i.e. sheets, quilts, blankets).  Seven loads were washed and only one went into the electric dryer.  Everything else was hauled up and out to the clothesline.  This is s.l.o.w. living.  You see, hear, and feel the environment when hanging laundry outside.  Tonight's sleep will be on crisp fragrant sheets.

Nathan and friend ... Post Falls, Idaho
The Mr. was out of town this past week ... which meant I was on a sta-cation.  A gal pal drove down from British Columbia and we tooled around town taking in the sights.  My kids treated me to a Mother's Day brunch at the Greenbriar Inn in downtown Coeur d'Alene ... followed by a quick stop at the water fall in Post Falls.

Garden time is upon us and we are 1/2 way to having everything planted.  One more good day and it should be done.

What's up in your world?

Wonderful photos. I love my sta-cations...I always get so much done. Weather has been wonderful here too...lots of garden clean-up.

I can't plant most things for another two weeks-our last frost date is June 1--but I have strawberries arriving from Nourse today(I'm FINALLY going to try ever-bearing) and I keep sowing rows of spinach and carrots.
I just LOVE the smell of the house after the bedding has hung out to dry---just heavenly. The dryer only gets used for socks this time of year. I can't stand hanging those up---tedious!
Have a great week, Mrs. Mac
:)

I love solar dried laundry, and am able to do it all year long. I enjoy hanging up the laundry on the lines.

Your mother's day sounded lovely.

Happy Gardening as you get in the rest of your garden.

Mrs. Mac,

I'm so happy to hear you had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Laundry always seems to be a full time job. Hanging clothes, sheets, blankets and towels outside is just a wonderful thing. I love the smell of freshness on everything hung outside.

It sounds like you had a blast with your girlfriend from B.C.

I love the pictures at the Tubbs and Post Falls.

Gardening is upon all of us. Were all trying to get everything into the ground or pots so there's time for growth and harvest before the seasons change. I still have a few things to plant and I'm trying to figure out where to plant them :-). The property has kept me very busy with maintaining the grass, pulling weeds, picking up stuff that blows in and cutting down old trees.

Mrs Mac

Sounds like you have had a blast this past week and how lovely to be able to get the washing out on the line. Very rainy and cold still here in the UK. I make it my goal to put all the washing out wherever possible in the warmer months, you can't beat the smell of line dried clothes!.
Love the photo of the falls, so good to be out in Gods wonderful creation.
God bless you x

I always sleep well that first night in sheets that smell of sunshine. I love it when the weather finally arrives after winter and you can air out the bedding, everything smells like fresh air and the mood lifts lighter than a feather. I have to laugh when I see manufacturers trying to copy the "fresh air" fragrance...you might as well try to catch the ocean in a teacup.

Lynda ~ I checked out your recent harvest .. including 'cackle berries' .. (LOL) You are so fortunate to have the ability to garden year round :)

Sue ~ I checked out your most recent post and see that even with a frost date of June 1 you have quite a bit planted .. good for you. I dug up my ever-bearing strawberries and saved just enough to put in a 4x4 raised bed. They overtook my garden last year so I want a smaller area to have to contain.

Flower Lady ~ Oh to hang laundry 12 months of the year outside would be great. I always enjoy seeing what's blooming in your Florida backyard when we're up to our eyeballs in snow each winter :)

Sandy ~ keeping up with the property can be a chore for sure. Ours is easier now that we've been here five years and have cleared up debris that accumulated in the forest since God planted it (or the last big fire ;)
Enjoy your garden projects!

Helen in the UK ~ It's always a treat to read your comments :) I hope you get some drier weather soon! Thanks for stopping by!

Tanya ~ (LOL) to the trying to catch the ocean in a teacup! Exactly .. you can't put FRESH AIR in a bottle. Thanks for 'traveling' half way around the world for a little visit :)

Sleeping on bedding that's been hanging on the line is surely one of life's simple pleasures. How wonderful you got to spend some good time with a friend. The falls look amazing!

We enjoyed riding our bikes around the water fall in Post Falls last summer. So many beautiful places to visit and fun things to do here in North Idaho! The Greenbriar Inn is on my To Do List now.

Cute picture of you with your grandson!
