Pink or Blue

Last night about 40 people arrived ..  half of those were children .. eager to have dinner AND dessert .. the cake .. cut to reveal the gender of our newest addition .. our daughter is expecting in April.

Can you tell by the expression on my grandson, Jake's, face that he was expecting a different outcome?

Yes .. he wanted .... a sister ....

... but he's getting a brother.

A baby boy, how wonderful! I'm so thrilled for all, and I know Jake will be too, he's such a cutie!

Perhaps a part of Jake's sadness is that, in his precious young heart, another little sister would make him not miss Rowan so much? He will love that brother the minute he sees him! Congratulations to all of you!

40 people, what a wonderful gathering. Jake will be happy when his brother comes. He needs time. You all look wonderful and so does the cake.
Thanks for sharing joy.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Yes .. I think Jacob was thinking a sister or another Rowan .. he's only five and has been through quite a tragedy for someone so young. In the Providence of God, I think a boy is perfect as there will be no comparison to Rowan .. maybe if there is another baby Jake will have that 'void' filled with a little sister. We are so excited!
