RIP Miss Holly

Nathan and his dawg .. Miss Holly
How can I not write about the passing of my beloved pooch, Miss Holly .. aka the 'dawg' .. she passed peacefully last night.  It's amazing how attached we can get to our pets.  She arrived eleven Christmases ago and was the second golden retriever that possessed our hearts.  If only I knew this night was her last I would have given her an extra hug or treat.  She was the best companion for our son Nathan.  They were inseparable and she gave him such love.  How do I tell him when he wakes up??  He has Down syndrome and I don't think he understands about death.  It's going to be a sad day at the Thrifty Garden Home.

Oh Mrs Mac - my heart goes out to you all. To lose a friend like that - she will always remain in your hearts.

Nathan will be very sad, but he will also understand that Miss Holly was tired and went to the good Lord above to rest. What a joy that must be...

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear, dear Mrs. Mac ~ My heart goes out to all of you at this time. I pray that God's love and peace will heal your hearts and I hope that Nathan is somehow given the knowledge by God that Miss Holly is now at home with Him.

I will pray for you all day. I'm sorry for your loss and I will pray that God somehow imparts to your son about death in a way that will calm his heart. Whenever I lose a pet I grieve for days. I love them and they love me unconditionally. Never do I have that happen in any other circumstance. ((hugs))

I am saddened to hear of Miss Holly's passing. We had our beautiful golden retriever, Gabe, for fourteen years and we are still not completely over him. He died over a year ago. Our pets leave a special place in our hearts and become like family members. Now that we have our little mini dachshund, Tobias, the pain has lessened. He is a joy.
I pray that the Lord will in His own wonderful way give a peace and comfort to dear Nathan and help him understand. Perhaps a new dog soon? I highly recommend doxies. ;0)
Love & Prayers,
Sandy

Dear Mrs. Mac and Nathan,
I'm so sorry about your loss, the beautiful dwag Miss Holly.
Our cat was murdered when I was twelve, and our whole family was crushed to pieces.
It was then my Dad started to pray for "Jauman" on The New Earth. "When there are lions and lambs on The New Earth, I'm sure our cat also will be there too", my Dad said.
He also prayed with us at least till we were teenagers.
I found great comfort in that. We all have our measured time on this earth, but on The New Earth there will be no sorrow, no parting, no tears, no pains.

Even if loosing our first cat in this dreadful way still hurts, I got a lesson about eternity even more valuable.

I think Nathan gets that. Miss Holly did posses your hearts, but she also opened the hearts for new four and two legged friends.

I'm thankful for what she has meant to Nathan and what has been built by love, shall not be torn down.
Sorrow is the other side of the coin called love. Miss Holly was worth being loved and being deeply missed.

Her body may be dead, but her soul is playing on The New Earth.

I'm so sorry you've lost your beloved pet, Miss Holly. I've been out of state the past week, supporting my uncle through the death of his beloved wife. It surely hurts to lose those you love. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all for your kind comments. Nathan took her death without all the emotional breakdowns as the rest of his family. He is not mourning her but rejoicing and .. just happy to one day have another dog. I love that kid!

Dear Mrs. Mac,
I love that kid too.
It's been a long time since you've been around. I hope things are well with you and your family.
I guess you are busy preparing Thanksgiving for that great family of yours.
Let me add my thanks for you being my sister and running all these wonderful blogs where I have found a home too.
My blessings to each and everyone of you.
